Dean and Jeri Ward were confused, scared, and devastated- but determined.
"When we left the hospital we did not know know where to turn, or what was available, and we do not want anyone else to have that unnecessary feeling." -Dean Ward
The Stroke Support Box is a combination effort of Jeri, the stroke survivor, and Dean, the caregiver. The boxes contain 18 handpicked items that both Jeri and Dean wish they would have know about from the beginning of their stroke journey. The items are for comfort, physical therapy, emotional support, and hope.
Beside the physical items, the box also contains free Zoom stroke support groups that can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
"When Dean and I had my stroke, we realized how isolating stroke can truly be, and we felt as though we were the only people in the world going through this. The reality is that someone is having a stroke every 40 seconds, we just are not connected with those people. We are hoping the resources within this box will help with connecting stroke survivors all over the world to help them know that they are not alone in this journey- you have a stroke family here to support you now!" -Jeri
